Cory L. Richards Memorial Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Guttmacher Institute: The
Cory L. Richards Memorial Scholarship Program is open to graduate students who are pursuing a
Masters Degree in the field of Public Policy or Public Health and demonstrate a commitment to
advancing public policy related to sexual and reproductive rights. Applicants must have a
minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) to apply. One individual
will be designated each year as a Cory Richards Scholar and awarded a one-time scholarship of
$15,000 to support full-time graduate study at an accredited institution in the United States.
The individual will be selected based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership and
participation in school and community activities, work experience, an essay, unusual personal or
family circumstances, and an outside appraisal completed by a professor, advisor or mentor.
Financial need will also be considered 

2. Edwards Lifesciences Scholarship Program (California, Utah, Puerto Rico): The Edwards
Lifesciences Scholarship Program provides renewable $2,500 awards for students pursuing a
major in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM majors). Applicants must be United
States citizens or legal residents who are high school seniors and residents of Orange County,
CA; Salt Lake County, UT; or Puerto Rico. Recipients must demonstrate financial need. Children
of Edwards Lifesciences employees are eligible to apply regardless of residence location,

3. Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund:The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 left the
nation and the world in shock. Through the generosity of individuals and corporations, more
than $108 million has been raised to fund this long-term scholarship program. Along with
Lumina Foundation, Scholarship America created the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund to
provide education assistance for postsecondary study to financially needy dependents of those
killed or permanently disabled as a result of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

America will administer the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund to eligible families through

4. Sallie Mae Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program for Graduate Students. The Sallie Mae
Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program for Graduate Students is a part of Sallie Mae’s
commitment to help aspiring students create the life they imagine. Four current or future
graduate and professional students will be awarded a $20,000 scholarship for postgraduate
study in law, business, medicine, dentistry or other graduate fields. This scholarship is unique in
that Sallie Mae employees contribute to the scholarship by raising scholarship funds through
5. SMART Scholarship Program for Service: The Science, Mathematics and Research for
Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service program is an opportunity for students
pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics (STEM) disciplines to receive a full scholarship and be employed as a civilian in a
Department of Defense (DoD) lab or facility upon degree completion. The program aims to
increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at DoD laboratories. Current
college undergraduates and graduate students in one of 21 eligible STEM fields (as listed on the
application site) are invited to apply.
6. Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for People with Disabilities: The Wells Fargo Scholarship
Program for People with Disabilities is designed to help people with disabilities obtain the
education or training necessary to succeed in the career path of their choice.To apply, you must
have an identified disability (defined as someone who has, or considers themselves to have, a
long-term or recurring issue that impacts one or more major life activity).

 Applicants must be
high school seniors or graduates planning to enroll, or who are already enrolled, in full- or halftime undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United
States for the 2019-2020 academic year. The program will award up to $2,500 renewable
scholarships for full-time students and up to $1,250 renewable scholarships for half-time
7. Jacob K. Javits Fellowships Program: This program provides fellowships to students of superior
academic ability—selected on the basis of demonstrated achievement, financial need, and
exceptional promise—to undertake study at the doctoral and Master of Fine Arts level in
selected fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences.
8. Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund: Fellowships are restricted to graduate students who are United
States citizens attending an accredited and designated institution of higher education within the
United States.
9. Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans: Thirty recipients will be selected, including
both master’s and PhD candidates. Applicants must be green-card holders or naturalized citizens
under 31 years of age and in their program’s first or second year. Selection criteria emphasize
originality, creativity, initiative, and sustained accomplishment, with value placed on a
commitment to the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
10. NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF): Since its incorporation in 1989 through 2017,
the NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF), has awarded over $162,000 in fellowships
to 150 NYS women. Of these, ninety-eight were working toward a Master’s and fifty-two toward
a doctorate.
